Real Food 101: Feb. 13

Welcome. Real Food 101 is the place to share:

* easy recipes a real food beginner can tackle

* tips on learning to cook with real food

Here's my featured post from last week:

Somewhere in the back of my mind, I had an idea for a post about commercial bread, the kind you find lining your supermarket shelves. There are oh so many things wrong with it. Turns out Jill, from Real Food Forager, had the same idea and did a fabulous job.

She wrote a thoroughly researched post called Why I Never Eat Commercial Bread. The only point I'd add to what she wrote is that supermarket bread tastes just awful compared to traditionally prepared loaves.

Thanks, Jill!

Hi Ruth,
Thanks for featuring my bread article -- you are right -- they do taste awful!

I shared a recipe for braised short ribs with gravy (SCD/GAPS), Valentine Day Linzer Hearts. Also, an article about the new science on the dangers of sugar, and I tried to answer the question: are grains toxic or safe?

Thanks for hosting!
