Is Your Microwave Really Safe
Microwave Experiment Starts!
A week ago I decided to do a little experiment to see if plants watered with microwaved water thrived as well as non-microwaved water. It occurs to me that Is Your Microwave Dangerous? rather than Is Your Microwave Safe would have been a better name for this post. Obviously, no small experiment can prove safety. An experiment can only highlight a possible danger.
Be that as it may, here are my two roses, one week later.
On the left, is the rose that was in kept in water that had been kettle-boiled and cooled. The one on the right was kept in microwaved water and cooled. I changed the water once during the last week.
As you can see, the microwave had no visible effect on the rose.
The roses are hitting the trash today. I’m getting a little of my counter-top back. I’ll keep up with the other parts of the experiment: the geranium cuttings and the two thyme plants and report back in a few more days. Stay tuned.

Interesting! I guessed the one on the right.
I'm enjoying this. :)
Great experiment - I still don't like using the microwave though! I'm thinking of getting back that part of my worktop and taking it down to the tip!
Can't wait to see what happens in pt2. I'm paying attention. :)
I think that the experiment for the water is to use it on actual growing potted plants, not cuttings. But good experiment however. I have nearly stopped using my microwave (hubby hasn't got on this wagon quite yet tho!)
