Have you already heard Jamie Oliver’s inspirational Ted Talk?

Jamie Oliver doesn't mince words. He says the situation is dire and a revolution is needed. He's trying to bring that food revolution about. While some people who eat Paleo or Primal or according to Weston A. Price won't agree 100% with what Oliver considers healthy cooking, he is an advocate of real, local, freshly prepared food. That is so overwhelmingly better than what is currently served in schools, at restaurants, and in many homes.

 Some key quotes.
"We have an awful, awful reality right now."
"We’ve got to start teaching our kids about food. Period."
"The home needs to start passing on cooking again… If one person teaches three people how to cook something, and they teach three of their mates, that only needs to repeat itself 25 times, and that’s the whole population of America."
Get inspired!

This is fantastic, Ruth. I watched the tv series "Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution" both SEasons 1 & 2..and LOVED it. I went to school in the L.A. Unified School District as a kid, and when I saw how kids were being fed today, it was horrifying. I"m not sure our food was much better, but certainly it was all made at the school, and we didn't have all that sugary stuff that kids are getting now. THanks for sharing this video link. Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather :)

I love this talk. Made me a little teary even. I did a post about it back in the fall I think. It's such a great video to share! I hope others will find it as inspirational as I did.

Visiting from the Barn Hop. I've seen the TED talk. What a hearbreak! For a child to not know what a potatoe is - that's a crime! Everyone should see this video!

Jill, I posted a video some time ago showing Jamies that visit to the classroom with the kids who didn't know the names of basic veggies. It was shocking to me. I honestly must have watched it 15 times, and I still don't believe it.
