"Is Chocolate a Health Food?".....is this a trick question?
I've read about the benefits of eating chocolate. Not the Hershey bar found in most stores but real chocolate. Thanks for linking up this week. Would you mind helping me spread the word about the weekly blog hop? Please include the blog hop button in the post or on your sidebar. Thanks! Hope to see your link next week!
I buy bars of baking chocolate. 70% cocoa and much cheaper than the kind packaged as healthy. Thanks for an interesting post! (hopping late this week)
You get what you pay for - so true! And thanks for explaining how not all chocolate is created equal. The things I knew deep down but had really never thought about (but should have!).
If i can find something healthy about an indulgence i love, then i'm a happy fit chick! I keep dark chocolate chips in my freezer for a sweet, small treat!connecting through the FFBH - new follower also, love the fitness site!
Even cooking choc can have some unhappy oil ingredients so it's worth watching out for that. On the other hand, extra-dark is usually pretty good, but watch out for the ones that have extras like lemon peel or berry bits - although their packaging may be as dark as the plain 72%, 84% and higher, they often have much less of the good stuff and lots more of the low, as much as only 52% cocoa solids. Notes from a chocaholic, heh.
I LOVE this... I can justify eating a LITTLE every day now :D :D
mmmm, chocolate! More reasons to love it! You are soooo very right about the junk in most of the store bought versions though! Thanks for posting on Freaky Friday!
